Mexican purple garlic

The origin of this condiment is not clear at all, but it sure is one of a kind. It has an exceptional and strong flavor.  Besides having several health benefits like antioxidants, and hypoglycemic properties, it is sure a great addition to almost any recipe.

How to cut it?

  1. Using the palm of your hand push down the garlic bulb to separate the cloves from the root. 
  2. Place the unpeeled cloves in a large bowl with a lid; close it and shake it for 30 seconds.
  3. Remove the lid and notice how most of the skins should be gone or hanging loosely. Shake more if needed.
  4. Discard the garlic peel and remove the pieces still attached.

We know this isn’t the onventional way, but it’s easier.

How to eat it?

Raw garlic has a very strong flavor which is why is recommended to be added in moderate quantities. It can be added raw, cooked, baked or roasted.
