Mexican purple garlic
The origin of this condiment is not clear at all, but it sure is one of a kind. It has an exceptional and strong flavor. Besides having several health benefits like antioxidants, and hypoglycemic properties, it is sure a great addition to almost any recipe.
How to cut it?
- Using the palm of your hand push down the garlic bulb to separate the cloves from the root.
- Place the unpeeled cloves in a large bowl with a lid; close it and shake it for 30 seconds.
- Remove the lid and notice how most of the skins should be gone or hanging loosely. Shake more if needed.
- Discard the garlic peel and remove the pieces still attached.
We know this isn’t the onventional way, but it’s easier.
How to eat it?
Raw garlic has a very strong flavor which is why is recommended to be added in moderate quantities. It can be added raw, cooked, baked or roasted.
